Built from inside a real practice

Nearly two decades in, and still in the trenches.

I'm Katie. I've spent the better part of twenty years in bookkeeping and operations, from learning the work inside an accounting firm to eventually overseeing close to seventy client files and a team. My first bookkeeping client signed with me in 2013 and is still with me today.

I built Brighten Bookkeeping Co. as a fully remote, intentionally capped practice because I wanted to work in a way that actually suited my life. Katie Anne Education came out of watching how bookkeeping business education was being taught and feeling like something important was missing. There's a lot out there about building a firm. There's very little honest conversation about building a practice that's deliberately designed around your actual life and goals.
